Villingen-Schwenningen, 06. February 2015
Hess GmbH Licht + Form, an internationally leading manufacturer of designed outdoor luminaires and site furnishings based in Villingen-Schwenningen (Germany), organised a prize draw during the trade fair “Salon des Maires”, which took place in Paris at the end of November 2014, and gave away 2 x 10 innovative VAREDO S luminaires.
Versailles and Gattières won the Hess prize draw
The French city of Versailles in the Paris commuter belt and the municipality of Gattières in the region Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur won the prize draw at the Hess exhibition stand.
Patrice Rouget, manager responsible for the public lighting in Versailles, is delighted with having won a street in new light: “We are already working on specific plans as to where the 10 VAREDO luminaires could be installed,” he reports.
Véronique Chaugne, the mayor's deputy in the municipal council of Gattières, is also very happy about these new luminaires: “The municipality of Gattières thanks Hess for the new luminaires, which are installed at an adequate location,” she says.
“Salon des Maires” - Trade show for municipal needs
This annual trade fair is considered the most important event for regional public procurement in France and is aimed at mayors as well as representatives and players in cities and municipalities. In 2014, 840 exhibitors and approx. 60,000 visitors took part in the fair.
For Hess, the “Salon des Maires”, being an important platform for the municipal sector, was the beginning of a more intensive market cultivation and penetration. In recent months, the company has for example refocused its sales activities in the French market and a dedicated sales team supports its French customers in all matters relating to outdoor lighting and site furnishings.
The VAREDO collection by Jean-Marc Schneider attracted great interest
The new generation of LED luminaires and high-quality site furnishings displayed at the exhibition stand, which included the VAREDO collection by the French designer Jean-Marc Schneider, was perfectly tailored to the design requirements of public spaces.
The VAREDO family comprises, in addition to the two-tone varnished LED outdoor luminaires which are already standard, an illuminating bollard, a barrier bollard, a bench in diverse variants, a bicycle rack and a waste receptacle. This allows the implementation of holistic design solutions for public spaces and varying functional requirements - using a harmonious and uniform expression of design.
